Kate Hooper

Kate is the Senior Production Manager at the Institute of Design Innovation based within the Glasgow School of Art. She leads on communication and production activities for the institute, and advises the Leapfrog team on communication practices.

Kate is a former BBC Senior Producer with extensive production, content and project management experience. Or, to put it simply, an editor who loves leading teams to deliver engaging content and events for audiences. She has worked extensively across broadcast, online and print.

Throughout her career in broadcasting, Kate produced and led teams to deliver a wealth of high quality programmes. She’s produced key industry talent and increased audience figures and engagement through her strategies. She has worked across the following genre: News and Politics, Investigations, Human Interest, Arts and Entertainment.

Kate also spent two years on secondment to Skills Development Scotland leading the digital content team. She also holds a director role (communications) with a dynamic social enterprise, which strives to equip young people with entrepreneurial skills, and she writes a column for an established newspaper.

She’d love to say that she has a wealth of exciting hobbies, but her two boisterous daughters take up every spare minute. She lives and works in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
