This week the Leapfrog team delivered the first batch of our Make It Happen community planning toolboxes to our project partners at Highlands & Islands Enterprise (HIE) in Scotland. In the HIE offices of Fort William we gathered to tell the story of the Make It Happen tools and their co-design journey, from the original scoping in Inverness, to the final co-design workshop on the Island of Mull, and all the great communities who were instrumental throughout the project. We demonstrated each of the tools in turn explaining the origins and inspiration for each as well as taking the partners through examples of how they could be used. Finally we demonstrated how the tools, although really useful in their own right, could work even more effectively when used collectively as a community planning toolbox.
We had some great feedback and very positive responses to the tools, and we already began planning to which communities this first batch will go and how they could be valuable asset. When we departed the Fort William office we left behind our boxes of tools that we hope will find their way to communities across the region through our partners. We also left behind the start of a plan for an even bigger event where we can deliver our toolboxes to even more communities from across the whole of Scotland. Watch this space!
