Let people say what they want to say

The tools in this toolbox were selected by Adele Dickinson, Geographical Team Leader, to help childcare users and provider open up discussion and debate on key challenges, issues and opportunities they face.

Intended for: Community Crèches, Parent Groups, Childcare Advisors

The tools can help these groups address problems and move forward in positive ways with services and practice. They are particularly suited to less experienced workers, helping bring out important discussions about challenging situations, building confidence and encouraging creative thinking.

For example:

  • Parental /Staff workshops, first choosing the tools they’d like to use as a group to encourage participation and then using the chosen tools to open discussion without feeling judged or having copious amounts of writing.
  • In team development sessions to support and address working with other professionals, staff, Teenagers and hard to reach families, challenging ‘the norm’ and giving an equal voice to all participants through use of the tools to share their creative ideas and experiences.
